How To Backup Iphone – When the iPhone was first released, backing up data was a complicated process that required users to transfer their files to a Mac or PC via iTunes. Since then, Apple has moved to the cloud with iCloud, which offers a surprisingly easy way to back up iPhones, iPads, and iPods without a host computer.

To backup an iPhone to iCloud, users must have an active account and sign in to their device. This is usually completed during the activation process, but if you are not signed in to iCloud, you can find the necessary settings through the Settings app in Cloud.

Backup includes device settings, messages (iMessage, SMS and MMS), ringtones, all app data (including Health and HomeKit app settings data), location settings (such as built-in reminders) and home screen settings and usage. Any data created in your iPhone app is already synced to your iCloud account and is not part of the iPhone backup.

By default, all app data is backed up to iCloud. Users can manage backed up apps by going to Settings > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backup.

ICloud backups happen automatically when the iPhone is connected to a power source with the screen locked and connected to a Wi-Fi network. There is also an option to do manual backups. To do so, just click Back Up Now in the iCloud settings menu. iCloud can store up to three device backups. In order to save storage space, Apple reserves the right to delete old iCloud backups if the user has not backed up their iPhone for six months.

Unlike other platforms, iCloud does not require any third-party software and does not create a data storage component (like, for example, with Android). Instead, iCloud backs up all your iPhone data and automatically syncs data for new apps dynamically.
