Once cooked, you can leave the hard-boiled eggs at room temperature for about 2 hours. Then you’ll want to store them in the refrigerator. Personally, we put them back in the egg carton for easy storage and put a lowercase letter ‘x’ on the eggshell to tell which one is hard-boiled. They will keep well in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

When boiling eggs, the biggest problem is that people can easily overcook them, causing the yolk to have a dark green color around it and a slightly sulfurous taste. This is my method on how to boil eggs so they don’t overcook.
Know? Old eggs are easier to peel than fresh eggs. If you plan to make hard-boiled eggs for Easter and want to make sure they’re easy to peel, buy them at least a week in advance (better yet, two weeks, they’ll stay fresh).
If you have boiled a batch of eggs and are now finding it difficult to peel them, try cracking the shells without peeling them and soaking the eggs in water for a while. Water often appears to seep under the shell to make the egg easier to peel.
The size, temperature, and age of the egg affect how easy it is to peel after boiling. For best results, we recommend using large eggs fresh from the refrigerator that are one to two weeks old.
Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs Using The 5 5 5 Method
The dreaded gray-green ring surrounding cooked yolks is caused by the interaction of the sulfur in the yolk with the hydrogen in the egg white. This could be due to overcooking the eggs or using water with a high iron content. This recipe cooks the eggs gently, avoiding overcooking and green rings. If you have particularly hard water, consider using filtered water to boil eggs.
If you need eggs that are easy to peel and have fresh eggs, you can try steaming them for 15 minutes. Pour an inch of water into the pot and place the steamer basket. Boil. Place the eggs in the steamer basket, cover and steam for about 15 minutes. If you don’t have a steamer basket, steam the eggs in half an inch of water. The steam penetrates the shell a little, making it easier to peel the egg. You can also steam eggs in a pressure cooker!
If you live in a mountainous area, soak the eggs in hot water for longer or reduce the heat and keep it simmering for 10 to 12 minutes.
Induction cooktops boil too quickly and retain too little heat for this method to work well. If you have an induction cooktop, we recommend steaming the eggs, which will give you much more predictable results.
