To make these books today, I used regular printer paper and my old stapler! I’ve seen long staplers used for binding books, but with my skills you don’t really need it.
The key to staple binding is to make sure you use a glass mat underneath the paper. Then place something soft with a small paper towel (such as a folded dish towel) and press firmly. This always ends well!
